After a monumental week for social justice and racial equality, we came together as an organization to understand how we can actively oppose systemic racism both this week and long into the future. We are committed to immediate support of organizations on the front lines of this revolution, but also to the actions we can take internally to create a fostering professional environment where employees of all backgrounds and colors can develop into leaders. We involved our team, comprised largely of POC, and let them decide what organizations to support. Together we have chosen to donate a minimum of $20,000 or half of this weekend’s proceeds from all six of our stores to @blklivesmatter, @innocenceproject and @seelaorg. As a team, we believe that these three organizations most appropriately align with the movement against racial injustice and our mission to create better lives through better food. We hope you’ll join us this weekend, use our recently reopened patio spaces as a place to recharge and reconnect, and help us contribute to change, now and long into the future.
Unfortunately, our Beverly Boulevard and DTLA locations will be closed for the day today as we clean up and support our small business neighbors who have lost so much that they have built for so long.
